In the year 2262, humanity is at war. After almost two centuries of space travel, humans have achieved a permanent presence in a dozen star systems and colonized six inhabited planets.
As early as 2190, contact was made with an alien life form that was soon dubbed the Colossi. They were gigantic, interstellar, intelligent and hostile to all other life. It soon became clear that humanity stood no chance against the Colossi. Colonies fell one by one, and by the early 2260s only Earth was left.
All efforts were focused on creating a single portal leading to a dwarf galaxy called Pegasus. The plan was to go there in the hope of finding something that would make a difference back home, be it new technology or a new weapon. And if no such miracle was found, it would take at least another hundred years for the Colossians to reach the Pegasus galaxy. So it was also made a temporary safe haven.
Three main fleets were dispatched to the Pegasus galaxy: the Zeus Link fleet of the European Union, named after the portal itself, the 1st Expeditionary Fleet from the United States and the Al-Musta’mar fleet from the Daras Syndicate. There was no time for thorough reconnaissance and preparation. The Colossi were only fifteen years from Earth. The first units entered the portal on Sunday 25 August 2262. In the remaining fifteen years, humans must find a way to save Earth.
The Pegasus Expedition is a combination of an epic sci-fi story and a solid space strategy framework. The creators aim to provide the public with a unique game that combines the best of both worlds. An added benefit is the beautiful, ethereal soundtrack that will accompany players on their journey as the mission moves from exploration to control, conquest and, ultimately, the fight for survival.
