It’s Need for Speed all over again with those crazy races, fighting corruption and more. Ghost Games has unveiled the fourth installment of the acclaimed gaming franchise that even those who have never played it know about it. The funny thing is that in spite of numerous problems, which were actively revealed by gamers all over the world, the popularity of the game does not become less. There is also a mobile version of the series which is supported by the gamepad, you can check out the review here https://dailypuffclub.com/
The new part, called Heat, perfectly fit into the series. It retains the main distinctive elements of the franchise, including wet asphalt, blinding neon, corruption and a faceless racer who becomes the hero of Palm City and is able to save the city from all adversity.
In parallel with saving innocent people, the chosen one must also resolve a couple of family issues. In particular, he must deal with a Mexican family that has taken him in. They have a mysterious past, and the desire to help is somewhat ambiguous. Here the hero will have to save the world and solve the family problems.
It is interesting that the overall atmosphere resembles the “Forsazh” movie franchise. A similar principle of plot twist is used and there is a certain similarity in the characters. In addition, there are occasional hints of a sequel in Heat. It seems that the part is to become a reboot and the foundation for the subsequent new series.
Need for Speed Heat features a time division between before sundown and after. During the daytime, you should participate in legal street races where there are sponsors. Thus, the opportunity to make a decent living, which will then be used to improve your vehicle.
The night time is dedicated to illegal races, where you have to face many obstacles, including oncoming cars. Such competitions provide a boost to your reputation on the streets. In fact, the choice of day and night is purely formal, as in fact they are interconnected and everything has to be done.
As always, the virtue of the franchise is still tuning. “Sprawl” in the settings allows you to pick up shades and add shades so precisely that you can forget about the very essence of the game for a while. Moldings are also present, though not in a huge range. You can also upgrade the interior and the contents of the car. The more responsible approach to this, the more chances to wipe the noses of opponents.
Available fleet of 127 cars has 33 brands. Some can be chosen at the start of the game, while others only appear as your reputation grows. There are also bonus cars for completing special quests or mini-quests (speed radar, drifting and more). With this, of course, not too kayfuyetsya, but a lot of plushkoy you can get.
You can also customise your character. Available details such as facial features, hair length and colour, clothes. There are some bugs about this, particularly the definition of gender, but they are not so significant when you managed to create the perfect hero for yourself.
Pros and cons
On the plus side, there’s a good job of ironing out the bugs from the previous installments. The graphics, the car park and the return of the Ferrari models are impressive. The soundtrack has not undergone too much change, nor has the layout of the main menu.
Some glitches remain, especially in terms of character customisation, a number of silly tasks (e.g. shooting down flamingos), desolate terrain, and a lack of logic in some of the character’s actions.
